This casserole recipe is different than all the others I've seen, as this doesn't use bread in it. This is a family favorite. Hope you enjoy it, as well. :) Ingredients:
6 medium potatoes, approximately 1 1/2 pounds |
2 (16 ounce) cans sauerkraut, drained |
1 lb smoked sausage, thinly sliced |
1 cup thousand island dressing |
4 tablespoons parsley flakes |
1 teaspoon caraway seed |
1/8 teaspoon black pepper |
1 1/2 cups swiss cheese, shredded |
1 green pepper, cut into strips |
Directions:
1. Peel, dice, and cook potatoes. 2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except for the Swiss cheese and green pepper. 3. Gently stir to combine. 4. Spoon into greased 9x13-inch oven-proof glass baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. 5. Uncover, and sprinkle with green pepper strips and Swiss cheese. 6. Bake, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes more. |
