German Potato Salad

This recipe comes from a family friend who was from Germany. She lived in our neighborhood when I was growing up.
Ingredients:
6 cooked potatoes, peeled and sliced
3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
3 teaspoons onions, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 slices bacon
1 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
Directions:
1. Fry bacon until crisp.
2. To bacon grease add vinegar, sugar, and flour to thicken.
3. Boil slowly 5 minutes.
4. Place potatoes, eggs, and onion in bowl.
5. Pour vinegar and sugar mixture over potatoes.
6. Serve hot.
7. Garnish with paprika.
