This recipe comes from a family friend who was from Germany. She lived in our neighborhood when I was growing up. Ingredients:
6 cooked potatoes, peeled and sliced |
3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped |
3 teaspoons onions, chopped |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 slices bacon |
1 cup vinegar |
1 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons flour |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon until crisp. 2. To bacon grease add vinegar, sugar, and flour to thicken. 3. Boil slowly 5 minutes. 4. Place potatoes, eggs, and onion in bowl. 5. Pour vinegar and sugar mixture over potatoes. 6. Serve hot. 7. Garnish with paprika. |
