German Pancakes With Buttermilk Syrup |

These have a flavor from the past when all the nice things were hard to get....butter milk was easy to come by.....hope you enjoy Ingredients:
pancakes |
6 eggs |
1 cup milk |
1 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons melted margarine |
buttermilk syrup |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
3/4 cup buttermilk |
1/2 cup margarine |
2 tablespoons corn syrup |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. Place the eggs, milk, flour and salt in a blender. 2. Cover and process until smooth. 3. Pour the butter into an ungreased 9 X 13-inch pan, then add the batter. 4. Bake uncovered at 400 for 20 minutes. 5. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the first five syrup ingredients and bring to a boil. 6. Boil for 7 minutes. 7. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla. 8. Serve pancake immediately with the syrup. |
