None of my family likes candied fruit...what is that green stuff anyhow? My mother found this recipe about 50 years ago and we all love it. Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter |
2 cups sugar |
4 eggs |
3 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon allspice |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 cup buttermilk |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
2/3 cup cherry preserves |
2/3 cup apricot preserves |
2/3 cup pineapple preserves |
1 cup chopped nuts |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Cream together: butter, sugar and eggs. 2. Sift together: flour and spices. 3. Add baking soda to buttermilk. 4. Add flour mixture to egg mixture a little at a time, alternating with buttermilk until well mixed. 5. Fold in preserves and chopped nuts. 6. Mix in vanilla extract. 7. Bake in a greased and floured bundt pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. 8. Cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan. |
