GERMAN FRUIT SALAD This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Walker Estate in McKinney, Texas in 1987. Ingredients:
12 ounces cream cheese |
1/4 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 teaspoon rum or sherry extract |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 cup fruit juice from fruit cocktail |
1 large carton frozen whipped topping thawed |
2 medium size cans fruit cocktail |
1 can pineapple chunks |
1 can mandarin oranges |
1 can dark sweet cherries |
1 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Drain all fruit then rinse cherries until water runs clear. 2. Soften cream cheese then add sugar, flavorings and fruit juice and mix until smooth. 3. Add whipped topping and fruit then allow to set overnight. |
