Similar to matzo balls or dumplings, used in soups. Ingredients:
6 cups toasted bread crumbs |
3 eggs, beaten |
1 1/3 cups butter, melted |
2 cups milk |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, eggs, butter, milk, salt, and allspice into a smooth dough. Roll into golf ball-sized pieces. 2. Cook by dropping into a boiling soup or broth. Simmer until they float to the top. |
