This recipe was in the Toledo Blade home magazine on May 1, 2009. Serve with yogurt or milk. Fresh fruit and/or honey may be added. Ingredients:
2 cups old fashioned oats |
1 cup pecans, chopped |
1/2 cup oat bran |
1/4 cup light brown sugar |
1/4 cup golden raisin |
1/4 cup dried fig, diced |
1/4 cup dates, diced |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Combine all measured ingredients and mix well. 2. Serve with yogurt or milk. 3. Fresh bananas may be added. 4. For a softer and creamier texture, milk or yogurt may be stirred in the night before. In that case, refrigerate until ready to eat. |
