Garlic Grits

This is a great dish to serve with barbequed ribs or chicken
Ingredients:
1 quart water
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup quick-cooking grits
1 1/2 cups diced processed cheese
1/4 cup butter
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. grease a 2 quart casserole dish
3. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan with garlic and salt
4. Stir in grits, reduce heat to low, and cook until thick, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently
5. Remove from heat and stir in cheese and butter until melted
6. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and milk, then stir into grits
7. Pour grits mixture into greased casserole dish and bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until firm
