My ex mother-in-law used to make this cole slaw whenever there was a barbecue at her home. It is a nice alternative to sweet cole slaws, and the tangy garlic taste offsets the barbecue flavor. I guessed at the amount of mayonnaise, as I have never really measured. After mixing the grated cabbage and onion, add mayonnaise to the right consistency, then season with salt, pepper and lots of garlic powder, you want it to have a fairly strong garlic flavor. Ingredients:
1 head cabbage, grated |
1 -2 onion, grated |
salt |
pepper, and |
garlic powder |
1 cup mayonnaise |
Directions:
1. Mix together grated cabbage and onions. 2. Stir in mayonnaise to the desired cole slaw consistency. 3. Season to taste with salt, pepper and garlic powder. I use quite a bit of garlic powder to have a fairly strong garlic taste. |
