My cousin Tamara Vandegrift Easley also sent this recipe with these comments: this is something that Julie Mathis brought to the reunion one time. Every time I have taken it to any gathering someone always wants the recipe. It is great with meals or with just a green salad for lunch. Ingredients:
1 pint hellmann's mayonnaise |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1 bunch green onion (chopped with some of the green tops too) |
1 loaf french bread or 1 loaf italian bread, sliced in half lengthwise |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon paprika |
Directions:
1. Mix mayonnaise, cheese and onion together. 2. Spread on bread. 3. Sprinkle with garlic powder and paprika. 4. Bake in low oven until melted. |
