Garlic & Basil Ciabatta

Perfect as an appetizer or as a side dish for a dinner party.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 tablespoons butter, softened
12 basil leaves
salt and pepper
1 ciabatta
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Directions:
1. Heat the broiler to high.
2. Beat together the mayonnaise, butter and garlic cloves until smooth.
3. Chop basil, stir through and season with salt and pepper.
4. Put the halves of the ciabatta, sliced lengthways, on a baking tray and spread with the butter.
5. Sprinkle with grated parmesan, then broil for 2-3 minutes.
