There is nothing like a good Italian Foccaccia sandwich at work. Or just eat it as a snack by itself. Ask questions if you have them, my english is not perfect. Ingredients:
1.3 cups milk |
salt |
4 cloves of garlic |
chopped herbs (sage, rosemary, thyme, oregano, etc) |
.5 ounces yeast |
flour |
olive oil |
Directions:
1. Boil garlic in your milk for about 15 minutes. 2. Mix the garlic in the milk. 3. When this cools, melt the yeast with 1/2 tsp of salt. Let this sit for a minute then mix the salt and yeast. 4. Add your flour until your dough is elastic but not too firm. Knead it for a bit then let it sit for an hour. 5. Drop some olive oil in a baking sheet and spread the dough. It should end up about 1/2 inch high. 6. Now dab some olive oil ontop of the dough. Let this sit for 30 minutes. 7. Use your fingers to poke holes all over the dough. Fill these holes with salt and herbs. 8. Bake this until the bread is golden brown (use a 390 F pre-heated oven). |
