For all you chick pea lovers. With an Indian kick. Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) can garbanzo beans |
1 tablespoon ghee or 1 tablespoon oil |
1 onion, roughly diced |
1 teaspoon ginger, grated |
1 teaspoon garlic, minced |
1/2 cup tomato, diced |
1 teaspoon cumin powder |
1 teaspoon turmeric |
1 teaspoon coriander powder |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon garam masala |
coriander leaves |
lemon slice |
Directions:
1. Sauté onions, add garlic and ginger in ghee. 2. Fry for about 5 minutes. 3. Add tomatoes, and cumin, coriander, turmeric and chili powders, and salt to taste. 4. Cook for another 5 minutes. 5. Add garbanzo beans, boil for a few minutes. 6. Add garam masala, let mixture simmer. 7. Remove from stove. 8. Serve garnished with coriander leaves and lemon slices. |
