I whipped this up for the BIG game tomorrow (Alabama v Auburn). It is very festive looking with red pimentos dotting the interior. This is the ball version of that Southern classic - pimento cheese. Serve with some good crackers or pita chips or flatbread. Ingredients:
8 ounce bar of cream cheese, softened |
2 cups grated sharp cheddar |
7 ounce jar of diced pimento, drained and seeds picked out |
worchestershire sauce |
hot sauce |
onion powder |
celery seed |
black pepper |
1/2 to 3/4 cup of finely chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients except pecans; 2. How easy is that? 3. Use as much or as little the spices and sauces as you like to flavor the cheeseball to your taste; 4. Roll the combined ingredients into a ball - or a log; 5. Roll the finished cheeseball in the chopped pecans; 6. Chill. 7. And Roll Tide! |
