I tasted one of these and loved it. So here's one for ya! Ingredients:
3 eggs, well beaten |
2 c. milk |
4 c. sifted all-purpose flour |
1/3 c. sugar |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1 t. baking powder |
oil for deep frying |
confectioners' sugar |
Directions:
1. Add milk to beaten eggs and beat in well 2. Gradually add flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder; mix very well 3. Beat until very smooth 4. Holding the open end of the funnel closed, fill it with the batter 5. Open the end of the funnel and allow batter to run out in a stream into deep, hot oil (375 F on a frying thermometer) 6. Move the funnel to make a pattern........... Starting at the center of the pan and swirling outward in a circle 7. Fry for 2 - 3 minutes, or until brown 8. Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle with Confectioners' sugar 9. Makes about 30 cakes, depending on size. (hence why it takes about 90 minutes to do all) |
