Also known as the 'fry-up,' this rather ponderous breakfast is the dog's bollocks for a hangover! Ingredients:
8 rashers of bacon, preferably irish back bacon |
8 eggs |
8 good quality pork sausages, such as cumberland sausages |
4 tomatoes, halved |
4 cups sliced mushrooms |
1 can heinz or van de camp baked beans |
1 tube of black pudding (optional, found at some butchers) |
2 tsp butter |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Set oven to broil, low setting 2. arrange the bacon and slices of blood pudding on a baking sheet 3. broil for about 10 minutes or till crisp. dry on paper towel and put in microwave 4. sautee the mushrooms in the butter and season with S&P. set aside 5. pan-fry the sausages till they are browned. set aside 6. fry the eggs as desired, and place on the paper towel with the bacon & B.P. 7. Heat the baked beans in a small saucepan, low heat 8. finally, broil the tomatoes for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with romano cheese, if desired 9. Arrange all these on plates and rewarm in a low oven (170 degrees) if required till ready to serve 10. serve with toast and jam, coffee or tea, and the Sunday paper |
