A friend gave me some of these bars over the holidys and I could hardly wait to get my hands on the recipe and make some more. They are rich but, oh so good. My family and friends rave about these bars. Ingredients:
2 cups packed brown sugar |
1 cup butter, softened |
2 large eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3 cups quick oats |
1 (12 ounce) package milk chocolate chips |
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 cup chopped nuts |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. 2. Grease 10x15 jellyroll pan. 3. In a large bowl, mix brown sugar, 1 c butter, 2 eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla. 4. Stir in flor, baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt. 5. Stir in oats. 6. Press oatmeal mixture into prepared pan. 7. Melt chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk and 2 Tbsp butter in saucepan over low heat, stirring until melted. 8.
