a quick cookie that doesn't need to be baked and doesn't last long once they are made. This recipe was one of my grandma's Ingredients:
3 cups quick cooking oats |
2/3 cups creamy or crunchy peanut butter |
2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup (one stick) butter or margarine |
1/2 cup milk |
1/3 cup hersheys cocoa |
2 tsp vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. line cookie sheet with waxed paper or foil. 2. measure oats and peanut butter and set aside. 3. combine sugar, butter, milk and cocoa in a medium saucepan. 4. heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil, remove from heat 5. add oats THEN peanut butter and vanilla, stir quickly mixing well. drop mixture by heaping tsp full onto foil or wax paper. 6. let cool until hardened and store in a cool dry place. |
