You can use pecans in place of walnuts if desired. The recipe for this states 5 dozen, but I didn't get even close to that when I made this, so yield is only estimated. Since these are small they are great to serve at a get together on a cookie tray. These are really good! Ingredients:
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk |
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 2 full cups) |
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
walnut halves (use enough for each cookie) |
Directions:
1. Set oven to 350 degrees. 2. Prepare lightly greased baking sheet. 3. In a saucepan combine the condensed milk, baking chips and butter; cook over medium-low heat stirring constantly until the chocolate and butter melt. 4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and then the flour. 5. Add in the chopped nuts; mix to combine. 6. Drop by teaspoonfuls on the cookie sheet. 7. Press a walnut half into the center of each cookie. 8. Bake for about 7 minutes (do not overbake). 9. Transfer to wire racks to cool. |
