This is another of those recipes that came from the conglomerate of recipes from my Mom , and I'm not sure where it came from, but I really want to share her recipes with everyone - Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup margarine |
1 egg, beaten |
1 1/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/3 cup milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/4 cup walnuts, crushed |
1 1/4 cups brown sugar |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 tablespoon corn syrup |
1/4 cup evaporated milk |
Directions:
1. Cream margarine, sugar, egg and beat, Add milk. 2. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed ingredients. 3. Next add vanilla and walnuts. 4. Pour into 8x8-inch baking pan. Bake in 35F oven for 30 minutes. 5. Cool Completely on wire rack. 6. FROSTING:. 7. Mix ingredients together and cook in a saucepan for five minutes. Remove fron stove and beat until it thickens. Spread on squares. |
