different way to fix Grits Ingredients:
4 cups water |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1 cup uncooked quick cooking grits |
2 tbs. crumbled cooked bacon |
1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter divided |
Directions:
1. bring water and salt to a boil stir in grits cook till done-follow pkg. directions 2. remove from heat 3. add bacon and 1 tbs. butter stir till butter melts 4. pour grits into a greased 81/2-x 41/2-x3 inch loaf pan 5. cool refrigerate and cover overnite 6. remove grits from pan cut loaf into slices 7. melt remaining 1/4 cup butter in large killet fry slices over medium heat 5-7 minues or till lightly brown turn once 8. yeilds 8 servings |
