This is a holiday twist on the old rice crispy square Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chopped dates |
2 eggs |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3 cups rice krispies |
1/2 cup chopped nuts |
chopped coconut |
Directions:
1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a frying pan over low heat. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. 2. Cool, add 3 cups of rice krispies or a similar cereal, and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. 3. Mix the cereal into the date mixture well. Form into balls and roll each ball in chopped coconut |
