Alternatively, this tea can be served as an iced beverage. Ingredients:
2 green tea bags |
1 cup orange juice |
1 cup natural pear juice or 1 cup pear nectar |
1 cup pineapple juice |
4 orange slices, halved |
4 lemon slices, halved |
2 cups water, boiled and cooled to 175 |
3 tablespoons caramel syrup |
lemon slice, cut in quarters |
Directions:
1. Add tea bags to prewarmed teapot; set aside. 2. Add orange juice, pear juice, and pineapple juice to a saucepan; add in the fruit slices. 3. Carefully bring to a simmer over low heat. 4. Add water to the teapot and steep for 2 minutes. 5. Strain the brewed tea into the juice mixture and bring the heat back to a simmer. 6. Add in the caramel syrup; mix well; discard the fruit slices. 7. Ladle the hot tea into teacups or mugs; garnish with 2 pieces of lemon; serve. |
