This is a very nice and fruity breakfast casserole that will leave them saying wow and more please. Greatness in a dish. Enjoy Ingredients:
6 large croissant rolls sliced lengthwise |
18 ounce jar orange marmalade |
1/2 cup of peach preserves |
3 ounces orange juice |
1 tablespoon grated orange zest |
5 eggs beaten |
1 cup half-and-half |
1 teaspoon almond extract |
thin orange slices and strawberries for garnish |
Directions:
1. Place lower halves of croissants in buttered baking dish. 2. Beat together orange marmalade, peach preserves, orange juice and orange zest. 3. Spoon two thirds of mixture over croissant bottoms then place croissant tops on bottoms. 4. Beat together eggs, half-and-half and 1 teaspoon almond extract then pour over croissants. 5. Spoon remaining marmalade mixture over croissants to glaze then refrigerate overnight. 6. The next morning bake in a preheated 350 oven for 25 minutes. 7. Let stand 5 minutes to firm up before serving then garnish with oranges and strawberries. |
