Rice with dried cranberries, dried apricots and topped with toasted pecans. Ingredients:
1/3 cup chopped onion |
1 (6 ounce) package long grain and wild rice blend |
2 cups chicken broth |
1/4 cup dried cranberries |
1/4 cup chopped dried apricot |
1/2 cup toasted pecans |
Directions:
1. Spray small frying pan with nonstick cooking spray, and add chopped onions . Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, or until onions begin to brown. 2. Place onions,rice mix, chicken broth, dried cranberries, and dried apricots in slow cooker, include the seasonings from the rice package. Stir well to dissolve seasonings. 3. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours. 4. Just before serving sprinkle dish with the 1/2 cup toasted pecans, or other nuts. |
