This was my Grandmother's recipe-she was born in 1880! To me, it complements fruitcake-but be warned! You will either love it or hate it! Ingredients:
1 cup light brown sugar |
1 1/2 tablespoons butter or 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine |
1/2 cup flour |
1 1/2 cups cold water |
2 teaspoons cider vinegar |
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Cut in butter to brown sugar. 2. Add flour and mix well. 3. Blend in water. 4. Cook until thick. 5. Add vinegar and nutmeg. 6. Serve warm. |
