A versatile base for any fruit sauce for things like waffles, pancakes, ice cream, frozen yougurt or wherever else your imagination takes you. Ingredients:
3 cups fruit, fresh, frozen |
1/2 cup sugar, granulated |
1/2 cup corn syrup, light |
1/3 cup water |
Directions:
1. In a heavy saucepan, combine all. Bring to a simmer over a medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. 2. Reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered 30-45 minutes until fruit is soft and collapses and liquid has the consistancy of syrup, stirring occasionally. 3. Options: Strain out fruit and add a few spoon of syrup into seltzer water or club soda for homemade soft drinks. 4. If using blueberries- add 2 tablespoons lemon juice. 5. if using apples- add 1-2 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar. 6. Can be stored up to one week. |
