I love the sound of this from recipes+. One to make for playgroup morning tea soon. Ingredients:
50 g butter |
1/2 cup raw sugar |
1/4 cup golden syrup |
3/4 cup pepitas |
3/4 cup sunflower seeds |
2 tablespoons sesame seeds |
1 weet-bix, crushed |
1/2 cup rolled oats |
1/2 cup self-raising flour |
1/2 cup dried cranberries or 1/2 cup dates or 1/2 cup dried apricot |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 170.C/150.C fan forced. Line a 20cm square pan with baking paper, letting 2 ends overhang for handles. 2. Place butter,sugar and syrup in a medium saucepan,stir over moderate heat until sugar dissolves. 3. Cool for 5 mins, add seeds, cereals, flour & fruit, mix well until ingredients are well-coated & combined. 4. Press mixture evenly into prepared pan. 5. Bake for 25 mins, until set & golden. Cool completely in pan, lift layer onto a cutting board & cut into slices. 6. Wrap individually in baking paper then plastic wrap, store airtight. |
