Fruit Salad With Pretzel Topping |

This pretzel topping is so good, I use it for other dessert toppings as well. This is a wonderful fruit salad. Ingredients:
3 cups pretzels, broken into small pieces |
4 tablespoons butter, melted |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 (3 1/2 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding |
2 cups buttermilk |
2 cups whipped topping, thawed |
8 ounces pineapple, crushed, drained well |
2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, crushed, drained well |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 and line a jelly roll pan with foil. 2. For topping:. 3. Place broken pretzels on pan. 4. Mix melted butter and brown sugar together. 5. Dump over pretzels. 6. Stir until well coated. 7. Bake 5 minutes. 8. Cool and break apart. 9. For salad:. 10. Mix pudding and buttermilk together in large bowl. 11. Fold in whipped topping, pineapple and mandarin oranges. 12. Cover top of salad with pretzel topping just before serving. |
