I love this cake, simple to make. Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups brown sugar |
2 cups sour milk (milk with white vinegar) |
4 cups flour |
3/4 cup butter |
2 cups jam (berry, apricot, peach or orange) |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
3 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 teaspoons cloves |
2 teaspoons nutmeg |
3 large eggs |
15 ounces raisins |
1 cup nuts (mix) optional if you do not want them. |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together well except jam. 2. Lastly, gently stir in the 2c jam. 3. Pour into greased and floured 9 round cake pans or Bundt. 4. Bake in 325 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 5. If desired, sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top. |
