Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 cup light corn syrup |
1/3 cup water |
1 pint strawberries, washed with hulls intact |
2 oranges, peeled, sectioned, and seeded |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, syrup, and water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Cover and continue to cook over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes to wash down sugar crystals from sides of pan. Uncover and cook, without stirring, until mixture reaches soft crack stage (280°). 2. Remove from heat, and place pan over hot water. Working rapidly, dip fruit into hot syrup, using a fork. Place fruit on a buttered baking sheet to harden. Let cool. Serve within 2 hours. |
