This french toast recipe is so awesome! It is truly great. Courtesy of Southern Mansion, New Jersey. Ingredients:
1/2 cup blueberries |
1/2 cup raspberries |
1/2 cup strawberry |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup white wine |
1/4 cup raspberry liqueur |
2 large eggs |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon almond extract |
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
1 tablespoon sugar |
2 ounces heavy cream |
4 slices challah or 4 slices brioche bread |
4 tablespoons unsalted butter or 4 tablespoons unsalted margarine |
toasted slivered almonds |
Directions:
1. FRUIT SAUCE:. 2. Cook the fruit, sugar, wine and liqueur for 15 minutes, then strain well. Add a little corn syrup for a thicker sauce. 3. FRENCH TOAST:. 4. Mix together the eggs, banilla, almond extract, cinnamon, sugar, cream and almonds. 5. Dip the bread in the mixture to coat thoroughly. 6. Heat the butter in a pan over high heat, and cook the bread until golden brown on both sides. 7. Serve with fruit sauce and enjoy! |
