Just a nice fruit dish. Ingredients:
16 fresh blood oranges(if you can find them,if not any good orange will do) |
2 cups water |
1/2 cup sugar |
6 tablespoons galliano(i use a little more) |
2 cans(1pound 13 oz each) purple plums,chilled |
Directions:
1. Remove the rind,(not the white,please) from 1 orange. 2. Cut in thin strips. 3. Pare the other oranges and cut all into thin slices,crosswise. 4. Place in bowl. 5. Cover the rind strips with water in a saucepan,and bring to boil,drain. 6. Combine the 2 cups of water,orange rind strips and sugar in the same saucepan,bring to a boiling,lower heat,simmer for about 5 minutes. 7. Stir in the Galliano,pour over the orange slices. 8. Cover ,with plastic wrap and chill. 9. Arrange the orange slices with syrup in a serving bowl. 10. Drain the plums,placing them in the center of the orange slices. 11. Serve. |
