Have used this as is, or as a topping over custard, also over warm gingerbread cake Ingredients:
plums or peaches or apples or pear |
2/3 cup red wine |
2/3 cup sugar |
1/2 cinnamon stick |
4 whole cloves |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1/2 thinly sliced, seeded lemon |
Directions:
1. Place fruit of choice in a baking dish. 2. Combine all the other ingredients in saucepan,stir and heat but do not boil. 3. Pour over the fruit. 4. Bake covered in 350 degree oven until fruit is tender when tested with a fork. 5. Baste fruit every 10 minutes. 6. Remove cinnamon stick and cloves. 7. Serve warm. 8. (can also be used as a topping). |
