I remember by Nan making this years ago, we loved it as kids and found the recipe again in a cookbook Possum Pie, Beetroot Beer and Lamingtons: Australian Family'' The original source: Mammy Oven–Puff Creamed Self–Raising Flour Recipe Book. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
1/2 cup treacle or 1/2 cup golden syrup |
2 cups light cream |
1/2 cup nuts, toasted & chopped |
Directions:
1. Beat the eggs then add treacle. Stir in the cream. 2. Place in freezing tray of refrigerator with control set at coldest temperature. When almost frozen, transfer to bowl and beat again until mixture is smooth and creamy. 3. Add nuts. Then replace in freezing tray and freeze until firm. 4. Serve when firm. |
