From Mark Bittman's Kitchen Express. Serve this with biscotti or other not-too-sweet cookies. You could add some Bailey's or Kahlua to the mix for an adult version too. Ingredients:
6 ounces dark chocolate, good quality |
1/4 cup cream or 1/4 cup half-and-half |
sugar, to taste (optional) |
3 cups ice |
whipped cream, garnish (optional) |
chocolate shavings, garnish (optional) |
Directions:
1. Melt six ounces of good dark chocolate with a quarter cup of cream or half-and-half, being careful not to boil. 2. Once the chocolate is melted, taste and add a little sugar if you like. 3. Put it in the blender with three cups of ice and pulse until an even consistency is reached. 4. Note: Do not blend too much as the consistency might become watery. 5. Serve in small bowls or cups and garnish as desired. |
