Frozen Ginger Lemon Drops (Patrick and Gina Neely)

Ingredients:
1 cup ginger/lemon simple syrup, recipe follows
1 cup vodka
1 cup lemon juice
4 cups ice
lemon wedges, for garnish
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 (4-inch) chunk ginger
2 sprigs mint
Directions:
1. Ginger Simple Syrup:
2. Add simple syrup to a blender. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and garnish with lemon.
3. For the syrup:
4. Bring water to a low simmer and stir until sugar dissolves.
5. Add ginger and mint and allow to steep for 20 minutes. Strain and chill.
