Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup molasses |
1 egg |
1 cup sour milk |
6 cups flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
1 cup golden raisin |
1 cup chopped dates |
3 3/4 cups powdered sugar |
1/3 cup orange juice |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
Directions:
1. In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add molasses, egg and milk; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, raisins and dates. Chill for 30 minutes. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2 inch cutter. Place on greased baking sheets. 2. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes. Cool completely. Beat frosting ingredients in small bowl until smooth. Frost cookies. |
