Ingredients:
1/2 cup golden raisins |
2 eggs |
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
vanilla frosting |
1/4 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Soak raisins in hot water to cover 15 minutes or until raisins are plumped. Drain well, and set aside. 2. Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl until light and foamy. Add sugar, beating well. 3. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and cloves. Add to egg mixture, stirring well. Stir in butter, 1/2 cup pecans, and raisins. Pour into a greased and floured 8-inch square baking pan. 4. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely. Spread top with frosting; sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped pecans. Cut into 2-inch squares.[ |
