These soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies are my family's favorite Christmas cookie! They look so beautiful on a cookie tray decorated with pink and green frosting. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1/3 cup powdered sugar |
1/4 tsp. almond extract |
3/4 cup cornstarch |
1/8 tsp. salt |
1 cup flour |
frosting |
2 tbs. butter |
1 cup powdered sugar |
1/2 tsp. vanilla |
1/4 tsp. almond extract |
cream or milk |
food coloring, if desired |
Directions:
1. Cream butter. 2. Add sugar gradually. 3. Beat in almond extract. 4. Combine dry ingredients. 5. Blend into butter mixture. 6. Chill. 7. Shape level teaspoons of dough into balls. 8. Bake on ungreased sheets at 375 degrees for 10 min. 9. Cool. 10. Frost with frosting. 11. For frosting, melt butter in saucepan. 12. Remove from heat; Stir in sugar and flavorings. 13. Add cream or milk to make frosting of spreading ability. 14. Tint with food coloring if desired. |
