This is one of my Aunt Dawn's salads. My brother asked for the recipe for his wedding dinner! We made a bunch of these. Cook time is chill time Ingredients:
1 3oz pkg lemon jello |
1 3oz pkg orange jello |
2 cups boiling water |
1 1/2 cups cold water |
1 32oz can crushed pineapple |
50 mini marshmallows |
2 - 3 lg diced or thin sliced bananas |
1 c reserved pineapple juice |
1 beaten egg |
2 tbsp butter |
2 tbsp flour |
1/2 c sugar |
shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Mix jello and water. Chill until thick and sryupy. 2. Drain pineapple and reserve juice. Add pineapple to Jello along with marshmallows and bananas. Chill in 9x12 pan until firm. 3. In the meantime: Cook and stir until thick; reserved juice, egg, butter, flour and sugar. Cool completely. 4. Spread over Jello, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Cut into squares and serve. |
