Frosted Double Chocolate Cookies |

These are really good and REALLY CHOCOLATY!!!!! Ingredients:
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided use |
1 1/4 cups flour |
3/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1/4 cup granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 egg |
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar |
2 tablespoons milk |
Directions:
1. Melt 3/4 cup of chips and cool to room temperature. 2. Combine flour, soda and salt in a small bowl. 3. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy. 4. Beat in melted chocolate and egg. 5. Gradually beat in flour mixture. 6. Stir in 3/4 cup of chips and nuts. 7. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. 8. Bake in preheated 375° oven for 8 to 9 minutes. 9. Let stand for 3 minutes, then remove to wire racks and cool completely. 10. Spread with Chocolate Frosting: Melt remaining 1/2 cup chips and 2 tablespoons butter until smooth. 11. Add 1 1/4 cups of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk; stir until smooth. |
