FRIED SWISS CHEESE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Butler Estate in Irving, Texas in 1988. Ingredients:
4 slices swiss cheese 3/4 thick |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup all purpose flour |
1 egg well beaten |
2/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs |
1 cup shortening |
Directions:
1. Sprinkle cheese with salt then dip in flour then in beaten egg. 2. Fry quickly in hot shortening until golden brown. |
