This dish puts a spicy, stuffing spin on the old prawn favorite. Goes perfectly as an appetizer. My mom absolutely loves it! Ingredients:
large prawns - 8 |
onion - 1 large |
green chillies - 2 to 3 |
ginger - 3 cm |
garam masala - 1 tsp (http://www.greatfood.ie/item_display.asp cde=8&id=898) |
pepper powder -11/2 tsp |
egg and breadcrumbs to coat |
oil to deep fry |
salt to taste |
Directions:
1. Clean the prawns and slit them along the back, keeping them attached at the other side(like butterfly prawns). 2. Grind onion, ginger, green chillies together to a paste (do not add water). 3. Mix in garam masala and pepper powder. Add salt. 4. Fill the prawns with this paste. Smear remaining paste (if any) on the out side. 5. Roll the prawns in breadcrumbs to make the paste stick. 6. Dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs again. 7. Deep fry in hot oil till golden. 8. Serve hot. |
