I was looking for different version's of fried okra. Well needless to say, I didn't find a one so this is my momma's recipe. Ingredients:
1 -2 lb okra |
1 -2 egg |
1 cup cornmeal |
1 cup oil |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Take the ends off and cut into several peices. 2. Beat the egg and put the okra in coat well then add the cormeal. 3. Fry it until golden brown. 4. I normally put the cornmeal in a zip lock bag and that coats the oka. 5. I also use my iron skillet that makes the golden brown. |
