Fried Green Tomaatoes With Shrimp Cream |

A beautiful and tasty appetizer Ingredients:
4 green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick |
1 quart buttermilk |
4 cups cornmeal |
1/4 onion, chopped |
2 cloves garlic, minced |
4 tbs butter |
4 tbs flour |
3 cups heavy cream |
1 lb shrimp or crawsfish tails |
1 tsp louisiana hot sauce |
1 tsp worcestershire sauce |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Soak sliced tomatoes in buttermilk overnight 2. Heat oil to 350. Take tomatoes out of butermilk and dredge in cornmeal. Fry in deep fryer until golden brown. Place tomatoes on plate and pour sauce over them. 3. Sauce 4. Wilt onion and garlic in butter, but do not brown. Whisk in flour and cook 5 minutes, continuosly stirring. Do not burn. Once roux is cooked, stir in cream with a whisk. Sauce should be smooth and creamy. whisk until it is. Add crawfish tails or shrimp and cook until shrimp turn pink, which will only be a few minutes. Crawfish are packaged precooked,.so only need to get hot. Season with salt, pepper, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. |
