These are addictive! These are easy! These are delicious! Serve them and count to 10! These will be GONE! May 2008 Home and Garden Magazine Ingredients:
1 egg |
salt |
1 cup panko crumbs, or fine dry breadcrumbs |
1 cup fat green olives (sicilian olives) |
1 tbsp plain flour |
oil for frying |
Directions:
1. Break egg into a dish, add a pinch of salt and beat lightly with a fork. Leave egg for 10 minutes to thin. 2. Process panko crumbs in a food processor or liquidiser until fine, then pass them through a coarse sieve. 3. Drain olives and pat dry with kitchen paper. 4. Put flour in a small clean plastic bag, add olives and toss gently. 5. Tip olives into a sieve and shake off excess flour. 6. Pass olives through beaten egg then roll in crumbs. 7. Fry olives in shallow oil, turning them over carefully with two spoons, until golden and crisp. 8. Drain them briefly on kitchen paper. 9. Serve hot. |
