FRIED CUCUMBERS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Grimes Estate in Bryan, Texas in 1988. Ingredients:
1 large egg |
1 cup milk |
2 cucumbers |
2 cups cracker crumbs finely crushed |
butter or vegetable oil |
salt and ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. Beat egg and add milk. 2. Peel and slice cucumbers then dip into cracker crumbs. 3. Lay cucumber slices out to dry a little then dip into egg mixture and then again in crumbs. 4. Fry in butter or vegetable oil until golden brown then drain on paper towels. 5. Season with salt and pepper. |
