Delicious fritter easily made with canned artichokes Ingredients:
2, 8 1/2 oz oz cans of artichoke hearts in water |
1 cup flour |
1/2 tsp garlic powder |
1/4 tsp dalt |
1/4 tsp dried basil |
1/4 cup grated romano cheese |
1/4 cup evaporated milk |
1/4 cup whole milk |
1 egg, fork beaten |
oil to fry |
Directions:
1. Drain artichokes hearts and pat dry. 2. Cut in fourths 3. Combine dry ingredients. 4. Combine wet ingredients 5. In a large bowl combine both mixtures and stir till smooth. 6. Gently place artichokes in bater and mix well by hand. 7. Heat an inch or two of oil in a heavy duty skillet to medium high. 8. Pour 3/4 cup of the mixture and fry till golden. 9. Drain on paper toweling. 10. Sprinkle with coarse salt if desired |
