I make these as a topping to vanilla ice cream, pancake, waffles and just to serve up in a dessert dish sprinkled with brown sugar. Found the recipe in a cookbook that I purchased recently but will vouch for these. Read more . They have been tried and found truly delicious by my family. Ingredients:
6 or 7 apples, cored and sliced ( i peel mine also) |
6-tbspn margarine |
1-tspn nutmeg |
1/3-cup granulated sugar |
1/4-tspn salt |
1/2-tspn cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Sift together sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. 2. Set aside. 3. Core apples and slice and peel, if desired. 4. Heat margarine in skillet. 5. Spread sliced apples and 1/2 the sugar mixture evenly in bottom of skillet. 6. Cook about 5 minutes. 7. Turn apples and sprinkle with remainder of sugar mixture. 8. Cover with lid and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste test for doneness to your family tastes. 9. Susana (-Suz) |
